Thus the Apaltle treating of our Juflifïcation before God, doth it in thefe Terms which are both expreffive of the thing it fell, and were well underftood by them with whom he had to do ; fuch as. the Holy Spirit in their Revelation had confecrated unto their proper ufe. Thus on the one hand he exprefly excludes the Law, our own Works, our own Righte- oufnefs from any intereft therein ; and in oppofition unto, and as incontinent with them in the matter of Juftification, he afcrbes it wholly unto the Righteoufnefr of God, Righteoufnefs imputed unto us, the Obedience of Chriil , Chrifl made Righte- oufnefs unto us, the blood of Chrift as a Propitiation, Faith, receiving Chrift and the Atonement. There is no avvakened Confcience guided by the lean beam of fpiritual Illumina- tion, but in it felt, plainly underftands there things, and what is intended in them.
