But Works wrought in Faith, by the aid of Grace, Evangelical Works are of an- other confideration, and together with Faith, are the condi- tion of Juftification. fief. r. That in the matter of our Jusiification the Apoftle oppofeth Evangelical Works, not only unto the Grace of God, but alto unto the Faith of Believers, was proved in the confideration of the foregoing Teftimony. 2. He makes no fuch diftinttion, as that pretended, name- ly, That Works are of two forts ;. whereof one is to be exclu- ded from any intereft in our Juftification, but not the other neither doth he any where elfe, treating of the fame fubjei , intimate any fuch diftinûion; but on the contrary, declares that ufe of all Works of Obedience in them that believe, which is exclufive of the fuppofition of any fuch diftin&ion. but he dire &ly expreffeth, in this reje&ion, his own ,Righte -. oufnef, that is, his Perfonal Inherent Righteonfnef whatever it be, and however it be wrought. 3. He makes a plain diftindion of his own twofold eilate, namely, that of his judaifm which he was in before his Con- verfion, and that which he had by Faith in Chrift'jefus..
