II, 19. For Chrift in all his Ofhces,is the immediate Head of it : Its Conftitution, and the Reve- lation of the ways of its Worthip,are an efeTt ofhis Wif- dome; and from thence is it eminently Cuited unto all the ends of the Covenant, both on the part ofGod and man, and is therefore liable to no Intercifion, or Alteration, 3. The vifible Adminifiration ofthe Kingdom ofChrzfi In this World , confifts in this Church Rate, with the Adminifiration of his Inflitutions and Laws therein. A Kingdome the Lord Jefus Chrift hash in this World ; and though it be not of the world, yet in the world it mutt be, until the World (hall be no more.. The Truth of all God's Promifes in the Scripture depends on this one Affertion. We need not here concern ourfelves what Notions Come men have about the exercife of this King- dom in the world, with refpe& unto the outward affairs and concerns of it. But this is certain, that this King- dom of Chrift in the world, fo far as it isexternal and vifible, confifts in the Laws he hath given , the inffitu- tions he hath appointed, the Rule or Po itie he hath pre- fcribed, with the due Obfervance of them. Now all thefe things do make , conftitute, and are the Church - ftate and Wor(hip enquired after. Wherefore as Chrift al- ways hath and ever will have an Invifble Kingdom in this world, in the Souls of Ele& Believers, led, guided, ruled by his Spirit; fo he will have a vifible Kingdom alto, confifting in a profeffed avowed Subje&ion unto the Laws of his Word, Rom. io. io.
