17o. The Continuation ofa Church. Late, &c. Kingdom, or his Kingdom in this fence, may as unto the Once of it be preferved in the external Profeflion of individual perlons, and it may be, fo exifi in the world for a feafon ; yet the honour of it , and its compleat eflablithment,confifts in the vilible Profeffion ofChurches, which he will therefore maintain unto the end. But by Vifble in this Difcourfe, I underhand not that which is confpicuous and eminent unto all, though the Church bath been to , and (hall yet be fo again ; nor yet that which is actually teen or known by others; but only that which may be Co, or is capable of being fo known. Nor do I affert a Neceffity hereof, as unto a confiant prefervation of Purity and Regularity in Order and Or- dinances, according to the Original Inflitution ofthem in any place 5 but only of an unalterable Right and Power in Believers to render them vfble; which it be- comes their indifpenfible Duty to do, when outward Impediments are not abfolutely infuperable.
