For whereas one principal end of all Churches is the joint celebration of Divine Wor{hip, if there be not a certain fable Rule thereof in any ChurchofDivine Pre- fcription, no Man can be obliged unto Communion therewith. 5. Where the FundamentalsofChurch Order, Pra&ice and Difcipline are deftroyed, it is not Lawful for any man to joyn in Church Communion. Thefè Funda- mentals are of two forts ; (i.) Such as concern the eTinillry ofthe Church ; (2.) Such as concern the Church it fill: There are four things that are neceffary Fundamental's unto the Order of the Church, on the Part of the e 4lin1thy. (i.) That all the Minihers or Officers of ir, be direly chofin by the Church it felf, and fòlemnly let apart in the Church unto their Office, according unto the Rule and Lawof Chrift. This is Fundamental unto Church Order, the Root of it, fromwhence all other Parts of it doSpring. And it is that which is gnus or exprefly provided for in the Scripture, as we {hall fee. If there be a Negle6t herein, and no other Relation required between PYI1iniflers, Elders, Rulers, `Bifhops, and the Church, but what is railed and created by *ayes and Rules ofwens appointment ; or if therebe a Temporary difpofal ofPerfons into a difcharge of that Office, with- out a folemn Call, Choice, Ordination, and Separation unto the Office itfelf and its work, the Law of Chrih is violated, and the Order ofthe Church difturbed in its Foundation.
