For I do not judge, that any Man is, or can be obliged unto confiant total Communion with any Church, or to give up himfelf abfolutely unto the conduct thereof, wherein there are incurable diffenfions about important Doctrines of the Gofpel. And if any Church, {hall publickly avow, countenance, or approve of Doctrines contrary unto thofe which were the Foundationofits firft Communion, the Members of it are at Liberty, to refrain the Com- munion of it, and to provide otherwife for their own Edification. 2. It muft be fuch a Church as wherein the Divine Worfhip Inflitutedor approved by Chrift himfelf, is dili- gently obferved, without any Additionmade thereunto. In the Obfervance of this Worfhip as unto all external, occafional Incidencies and Circumftances of the Ads wherein it doth confift, it is left unto the Prudence of theChurch itfelf, according to the Lightof Nature, and general Rules of Scripture ; and it muff be founlef we íhail fuppofe that the Lord Jefus Chrift, by makingmen his Difciples, doth unmake them from being rational Creatures,or refufeth theExercifèofthe rational Faculties ofour Soules in his fervice.
