Tbe princip'les remaining in it concerning Good anrl Evil, with its practical convictions, are not deftroyed , but improved by grace ; as its blind'nefs, darknefs and enll!ity to God, are in part taken away. Being renewed by Gra.ce, what it receives here of fpirituallife and light, !hall never be deftroyed bnt be perfected in glory. Grace renews nature ; glory perfects grace; and fo the whole foul is brought unto its reft in God. We have an Image of it in the blind mm~ whom our Sa vi our cured, Mar. 8. 22, 23, 24. He was abfolmely blind, born fo, no doubt. Upon t}e firft touch his eyes were opened, and he faw, but very obfcurely ; he faw men 2valking like Ti:eeJ". But on the fecond 1 he faw all things dearly. Our minds in themfelves are . abfolmely blind. The firfr vifitation of them by: Grace, gives them a fight of things fpirimal, heayenly and eternal, but it is obfCure and unfteady.
