Vcr.4.. Equal and Holy. 26 t come, and whofcever will, let him take of the water of life freely; All center in this, that frnners may come freely to the Grace of the Gofpel. And It is the known voice of the Gofpel it fell, as Ifa. 55. 1,2,3. Irov. 9. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. And it is the voyce of all the Saints in Heaven and Earth, who havebeen made partakers of Forgivenets, they all reilifte, that they received it freely. Some inde, d endeavour w abufe this concurrent Teffimmy of God and Man. What is fpoken of the feecalom of the Grace of G,d, they would wrcfl to the power of the Will of man : But the riches and freedom of Gods mercy do not in the leaf# enter- file with the efficacy of his Grace. Though he proclaim pardon in the blood of Chrift indefinitely, according to the fuflnels and excellency of it, yet he giveth out his quickening Grace to enable men to receive it, as he pleafcth, for he hath mercy on whom he will have mercy. But this lycs in the thing it fell, the way is open and prepared, and it is not becaufe into cannot enter, but becaufe they will not, that they do not enter. As our Saviour Chrift tells the Pharifees , Ye therefore hear not Gods Ward, becaufe ye are not of God. Joh. 8. 47. and Joh. 6. 44. So he doh, Ye will not come unto me that you may have life, Joh. 5.40. In the neglect, and inadvertency of the moll ex- cuf, ble, ,there is a pofitive AU of their Will put forth in the refuting ofChrift and Grace by him. And this is done by men under the preaching of the Gofpel every day. There is no- thing that at the latt day will tend more immediately to the advancement of the Glory of God, in the inexcufablenefs of them who obey not the Gofpel, than this, that Terms of Peace in the bleffed way of Forgivenets were freely tendred unto them.. Some that hear or read this Word, may perhaps have lived long under the difpenfation of the Word of Grace, and yet it may be have never once feriouflypondered on this way ofcome- ing to God by Forgivenets through the blood of Chriu; but think, that going to Heaven is a thing ofcourfe, that men need not much trouble themfelves about; do they know what they have done ? hitherto all their dayes they have pofirively refufd the falvation, that hath been freely tendred unto them in Jefus Chrift, Not. they, they'1 fay, . they never had fuck a L 1 3 thought,
