To clear this matteryou muti oblerve what I intend by this fpiritual fenfe, which you muli learn to difinguifh faith from ; and to know that true faith interefting the foul in forgivenefl may be without it, that foyou may not conclude unto a real want of pardon, from the want of the refrefhing fenfe of it. Grace in general may be referred unto two heads. (i.) Our Acceptation with God through Chrift ; the fame upon the matter with the forgivenef of tin that we are treatingof. And (2.)Grace ofSanfii fcation fromGod in Chrifi : Of each of theft there is a fpiritualfenfe, or Experience to be obtained ; in both diflinguilhed from faith that gives us a real Interefi in for- givenefl. Of the firti, or the fpiritualfenfe that we haveof Acceptance withGod, there are fundry parts or degrees; As firff, hereunto belongs peace with God, Rom. 5. r.
