It may be whenmens perplexities are at the height, and the moil fad Expretiions are as it were wrcfted from them, they yet think they mull 7u- fifie God, and that they do fo accordingly. But yet fuch thoughts as thole mentioned, are very.apt to infect the mind with other inclinations. For after a while they will prevail with the foul to look on God as anEnemy, as one that hath no delight in it ; and what will be theconfequent thereof is eatily difcernable. None will continue to love long, where they ex- petY# no returns.
