In him it is in its fulnefs, and from thence it is derived unto all that b:lieve, who receive from his fulnefs Grace for Grace, Joh. i. 16. All true Paving fanc`ifying Grace, all fpiritual life, and every thing that . belongs thereunto is derived dire6tly fromChrill as the living Head ofhis Church, and fountain of all fpiritual lifeunto them. This the Apotile expreffeth, Epbef. 4.15, i6. Speaking the truth in love, grow up into him in all things, which it the Head even Chriff ; from whom the whole bodyfitly joyned together, and compacted ly that which every joynt fupplieth, according to the effe- ctual working in the meafure ofeverypart, maketb increafe of the bodyunto the edifying of it fell in love. To the fame purpofe he again expreffeth the fame matter, Col, z. 19. All Grace iii the whole body comes from the Head Chrift Jrfus ; and there is no growth or furtherance of it, but by his Effectual working ineve- rypart tobring it unto the meafure dcfigned unto it. Nothing then, no not the leaff of this Grace can be obtained but by vir- tue ofour Vnion unto Chrift as our head, becaufe it confifts in a vital e.ffeóual influence from him, and his fulnefs. And this kind of Relation unto Chrift, all Grace that is, or may be in unregenerate men,is incapable of. Thirdly, The Grace ofRegeneration, and the fruits ofit are adminifired in and by the Covenant. This is the prornife of the Covenant, That God will write bit Law in our hearts, andput hit fear in our inward parts, that we 111a11 not depart from him, Ter. 3 s. This is that Grace whereof we fpcak, whatever it be, or ofwhat kind foever. It is bellowed on none but thole who are taken intoCovenant with God ; for unto them alone it is promifed, and by virtue thereof is it wrought in and upon their fouls. Now all Unregenerate men are firangers from the Co- venant, and are not made partakers of that Grace which is peculiarly and only promifed thereby, and exhibited therein. Fourthly, the leaft (park of Paving Regenerating Grace is wrought in the foul by the Holy Ghott, as given unto men to dwell in them,, and toabide with them.
