Ver. 5, 61 If ailingonGod wherein it confis. 369 will order unto thee. We retlrain this unto prayer. I will di- reel my prayer unto thee. But this was expreffed direly in the words foregoing ; In the morning thoufhalt hear my voice, that is the voice of my prayer and fupplications, as it is often fup- plied. And although the Ff.dmiti doth fometime repeat the lame thing in different Expretlions, yet here he (èemeth not fir to do, but rather proceeds to declare the general frame of his fpirit'in walking with God. I will, faith he, order ali things towards God, fo as that 1 may wait upon him in the wales of his appoinment ; 7-Mt and will lobk up. It feLms in our Tranflation to exprefs his pol(ure in hit prayer. But the Word is of another importance. It is diligently to loF,k out after that which is coming towards us , a looking out after the Ac- cotmplifhment of our Expe+4ation. This is a part of our waiting for God; yea, as was laid, the life of it, that which is principally intended in it. The Prophet calls it We handing upon bis warcb tower, and watching to fee what God would (peak unto him, Hab. 2. 3. namely, in anfwer unto that prayer which he put up in his trouble. He is nowwaiting in Ex- pectation of an anfwer fromGod. And this is that which poor, weak, trembling tinners are fo encouraged unto, Ifa. 53. 3, 4, Strengthen the weak bands, and confirm the feeble knees ; fay unto them that are of a fearfull heart, beffrong, fear not, behold your God will come. Weaknefs and ditcouragements are the effe is of Unbelief, Thefe he would have removed with an Expectation of the coming of Godunto the foul according to the Promife. And this I fay belongs unto the waiting of the foul in the condition defcribed. Such a one doth expect and hope that God will inhis feafon manifefi himfelf and his Love unto him, and give him an experimental fenfe ofa bleffed interell< in forgivenefs. And the accompli(hment of this purpofe and pro_ mile of God, it looks out after continually. It will not defpond and be heartlefs, but Ihr up and firengthen it feltunto a full ex- petation to have the deliires of his foul fatisfied in due time :as we find David doing in places almoll innumerable. This is the duty that in the firft place is recommended unto the foul, who is perfwaded that there isforgivenefs with God, but fees not its own interefi therein. Wait on, or for the Lord. And
