In Natural we do but comply with our Temperament,and in Moral but facrifice to our Reafon : But the Grace of Meeknefs is a portion of that Dove- like Spirit which retied upon Chrift, and aims at his Glory whole Goodnefs is refèmbled thereby. Hence it is obfervable, that where the Meeknefs is only Natural or Moral, Men will be angerlefs and fintully meek even when Gods Glory lies at the Stake, their Meeknefs being as oppofite to hòly Zeal, as to rafh An- ger ; but where the Grace of Meeknefs is,Men in their own concerns glorifie God by a cool converfe, and in Gods call for Zeal to vindi- cate his Glory.
