Was not their Original fcope to raife up fallen to Salvation ? If the Com- mands of b:AiNfri g and repenting were im- poifible, what room would there be for Sal- vation ? And if the Commands of proving and enuring our five cf Grace be impof,ible, what room is left for the Joys of Faith, or the Sealings of the holy Spirit, or the Suavities of a good Confcience ? And there being no fe- cond Chrifi or Gofpel to fly to, whither loth this Impossibility drive but into the black gulf of Defpair ? wherefore, as we would avoid facia doleful confequences, we rnutî conclude thofe Precepts practicable, and fo Affurance pofíible : And as a fure feal thereof we have the fweet experience of Saints in all Ages.
