The Earneíl going along with the Believer to Heaven, his Graces cannot pof- fibly fail by the way. Our Saviour told his Difciples, and in them all Believers, That the Spiritfhould abide with them for ever,Joh.I4.16. And two things will make it good to them, I mean, their Union with him, and his Inter - ceffìon for them. Their Union with him will do it, they being mytlical- parts and pieces of him ; the Holy Spirit will enliven them and their Graces ; Becaufe Ilive.ye Thal live alf,faith our Saviour, Joh.14. 19. The Members can- not dye, as long as there is life in the Head. But may not the Union ceafe ? No, by no means ; God himf elf bath e(lablifhed it; thus the Apofile, Now he which fiablifheth us with you in Cori( I, and hath anointed us, is God; who loath alfo Paled us, and given us the earne(l of the Spirit in our hearts, 2 Cor.1.2 1,22. Believers are eftablithed in Chrift, and to affure them of it the holy Spirit is an Un- ion, a Seal and an Earneft in their Hearts. This eftablifhment of Believers feems to me exemplified in Chrifts Humane Nature, that once affumed into the Word by an Hypoflati- calAnion was never feparated from it, & thofe once
