This therefore fhouid in the next place teach all ofus to Rudy and delight in the Law of God, as that which fetteth-forth, and maketh more glorious & confpicuous the mercy of Chrifl. Acquaintäce with Our felves in the Law, will, Firfl,kfepe %r more lowly and vile in our owne ej'es, make us feéle our owne pollution and poverty; and that will again make us the more delight in the Law, which is fo faith full to render the face ofthe Con- fcience, and fo make a man the more willing and ear- nett to be cleanfed. Their heart, faith `David, is as fat as greafe,but I delight in thy Law. The more the Law doth difcover our owne Jeannette, feraggednefle and penury, the more doth the Soule of a Holy man delight in it, be- caufe. Gods mercy is magnified the more, who fcllerh the hungry, and refreflhetb the weary, and with Whom the fa- therlefe findeth mercy. Secondly, it will make us more carefull to live by Faith, more bold to approach the throne of Grace for mercy to cover, and for Grace to cure our fores and na- kedneffe. In matters oflife and death, impudencie and boldnefle is not unfeafonable.
