As fin is contrary to the.Righteoufnefs and HolinefS of the Law, it is form2tlly fin, and this effential Form, and Life of :fin remaineth in us while we live; Sin being in an Aft of dying, or a Paffion rather to be crucified, and in the Way to its Grave and perfect DeftruB:ion, .which {hair be, when Glory .fhall grow up out of the Stt lk of Grace, and Sanctification fhall be perfeEted; for Grace is the Bud, Glory· the Fruit ; Grace the Spring and Summer, Glory the Harveft. 2 . As Sin is a Blacknefs cqntrary to the Innocency .that the Law requireth, .and as it blotteth and deflleth the Soul, it ts ~ Afacukt, a Spot, a filthy and dtrformed Thing, abating tne Creature, making t~e Creature black, crooked, defiled , like the Skl.~o1 of the Ethiopian, or ipotted like the Leopard., .'1e1•. xiii. 2 3· 3· As Sin is a Blot that maketh the Creature impure, unclean, and contary ami hateful to God ; fo it is a Blot and unclean Thing to God, and that two vVays, z.As it is contrar-y to God's holy Law, its formally Sin, as is before faid. 2.
