T has been already confidered, with what Truth and Propriety theTitle JEHOVAH is applied to our Lord Jefus Chrift, in the holy Scriptures. The Right alone to that Title, the llrians themfelves being Judges, de- clares an effential and proper Divinity. The Re- deemer has revealed and proved his Right to that Ti- tle ; and, therefore, he is of eritially and properly divine- But, as if the Name JEHOVAH did not exprefs the of- ficial Dignity and Character of the Saviour; it receives the glorious and comfortable Appendage of OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS : And if we confider, what the LORD; himfelf is, and what we ourfelves are; no Word, in the Compafs of Language, could at once exprefs his Great- ;left, and our Depravity, snore forcibly than this Word, which the HOLY GHOST hath fet before us. It (hall be the Bulinefs ofthis Efïày to confider the Saviour, not only as exalted on the Throne of his primæval Glory, but as glorified in the more endearing Character of JEHOVAH INCARNATE, and JEHOVAH OUR RIGHTEOUS&ass. This Title ofOur Righteoufnefs, annexed to the Name Jehovah, is fo far from derogating from the Glories of the Godhead, that it adds a Luftre, and yields aSplendor to all its other Perfectionsand Attributes.
