ofInefec ual Hearing the l71orcl. the word)of Gods grace, of the exceeding riches of Gods grace, and the love ofGod to him, that he may be in a little heaven at that time ; ravithed in the admira- tion ofthat mercy, that ever God fhould look tó him. it is fo, and the word (ayes fo, and the foul is ravifhed withwonderment at it ._; yet God is gone again, and the foul lofes it. Now the foul thinks, I have loft the efficacy of Gods word, but it is not fo ; for thus it may be preferved. Oh that I may fee this God as I have done : And all his life-time the foul may find the want of this, Be yet it may be preferved in a fpirit of prayer. For whetn the Lord hath given once a g!impfe of his glom; the foul it cannot beat reft, but it breatheth for moretlofthat mercy and prefence ; a Chri.`:ian may find his fpi- rit marvelloufly refrefhed at the ward, he may tafle how good the Lord is ' and he may lofe it again : but this may be preferved in a oflongingafter this God,and pretence again. So forte Chrnftians, the Lord he's a filling of them; orhrs, the Lord he do's not fill themwith fuch peace and toy ; ay, hut though the Lord is not fillingof them, he is a widening of them there isfuch a vet me that the Lord do's enlarge the heart with fecret defires and longings after more ofGods grace, and Chrifts : The Lord he faith, I intend to make this ;man a veftell ofglory ; and I intend he fhall have a great deal of glory and peace at the Taft.
