For thtes faith the Lord of hofsi Iet once, it is a little while, and I will /bake the heavens, and the earth, and the f a, and the dry 'land: And I willfhake all nations, and the de/ire of all nations /hall come, and I will fill this houfe with glory, faith the Lord of hafts. The Aver is mine and the gold is mine, faith the Lord of bolts. The glory of this latter houfe fhall be greater than of the former, faith the Lord of buffs ; and in this place will I give peace, faith the Lord of hofts. THE Author of this Prophecy was the firft of the three Prophets, which God fent to the People of Ifreel after the Captivity ; and this Prophecy containsfeveral Meffages from God, to the Princes, and Elders, and People of lima, in which he reproves their flacknefs and negligence in the building ofthe Temple, and encourageth them thereto, by the promife of his affiftance, and tells then/, that however in refpe&of the magnificence of the Building, and the rich Ornaments of it, it fhould be incomparably fhort of Solo= mon's Temple, (which fouie that were then alive had feen in its glory) yet in other refpe&s, it fhould far excel it ; for the time would come, that this fecond Temple fhould be graced with the Prefence of the Meglas, which would be a greater Glory to it, than all the Riches ofSolomon's Temple. And this is fully expreft in the Words which I have read unto you, Thus faith the Lordof bolls, 1'et once, it is a little while, and I will jhake the heavens, and the earth, and the fia, and the dry land : AndI will fhake all nations, and the define of all nations 'hall come, and I will fill this houfe with glory, faith the Lord of halls. The hlver is mine, and the gold is mine, faith the Lord of hoffs. The glory of this latter houfe (hall be greater than of the former, faith the Lord of bolls ; and in this place will I give peace, faith the Lord of hods. Now, that it is force very great thing which is here foretold and promifed, for the Honour of this fecond Temple, no Man can doubt, that confiders in what a folemat manner it is here expreft ; this great and glorious Tide, the Lord
