After the water of purification, tell me now, what was the holy anointing oil ? A. It was a kind of liquid ointment, compounded of myrrh, cinnamon, and other rich spices, with oil-olive, by the art of the apothecary ; and there was none to be made like it on pain of death : Ex. xxx. 23-33. 81. Q. What was the use of this holy oil? A. All the ves- sels of the tabernacle were to be anointed with it, as well as Aaron the high-priest, and his sons ; Ex. xxx. 26. 85. Q.
