When Jesus heard Peter a little before boast- ing of his seal and courage, he foretold him that he should deny him thricebefore the cock crowed twice; andwhen Peter heard the cock crow, Jesus standing now before the high-priest, turned and looked upon him ; and his heart melted within him : and he went out and wept bitterly ; Mark xiv. 72. The high - priest asked him, " Art thou the Christ the Son of God ? and Jesus said, I am ; and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right -hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."
