Watts - BX5200 .W3 1813 v.6

kePENDIX. 541 to whom all the highest titles in the Old Testament are ascribed, as Christ himself says ; John x. I and my Father are one. The Fáther and Son are not,two infinitespirits, or two Gods, but one and the same God. 3. That the denying of these glorious and sublime titles of Jehovah, the Lord God, the God of Israel, &c. to belong to Christ, or the interpreting of them into such a diminished and inferior sense as may belong to a mere inferior spirit, acontin- gent or created being, without any such personal union to god- head, seems to run contrary to the most plain and obvious sense and meaning both of the sacred writers, of the ancient Jews, and the primitive christians.
