98 Nojournyingfor Ifrael till true Tabernacle which God did piteh,and not Man ; and from thence we have fhewcd that theTabernacle in the myflery is the Riches of that glory, life, mercy, and immortality which God makes outto the Tonnes of men: And that Jefus Chrii is thatfpiritual Mofes, that fpiritual high Prieft , who hath once entred into this holy place, even once for all; And that the light in this Tabernacle, which is as a fire by Night , is that light and fire only that guides anddire&s the fouls of Saints in all their journeying through the defblate Wilderneffe oftheir own dirkand blind hearts, and that this Tabernacle is covered with a cloud, that the eyes of men , nay, nor of Saints cannot fee or behold ir, till God himfelfe withdraws and removes it. And the fouls of Saints are not to goeon, but to abide in their Vents till the Lord remove this cloud ; Deet.9. as we may fee exprefly and fully commanded in Deu.9.from verf.t6,to the end.. Andwe have [hewed that in theday when he doth not remove it, they are to f tffill till the day and time he pleafeth to remove it ; and even then, in thenight, in the darke, when all other things are becomedarkneffe, then this fire, this light is a lanthorn to them in all their journeys or waies wherein they [hall goc, and whither they fhall be led. fay 30.7 For in this cafe, andunder this difpenfation they arenot to walk or work, but Their firength is tofitHilt : But I know theft things greatly offend force , who are wife and ffrong in themfelvs : Yet,faith theLord, verf. 8. Firft, we have (hewed that the divine fire of this Tabernacle is that onely which guides and dire&s the fouls ofmen in their way towards the fpirituall and heavenly Canaan; we have [hewed thereupon the happinefs of the foul that fol- lows and keeps with this Tabernacle, that alwaies fees and beholds thisfire ofthe Altar, that knows thefire that commeth down fromHeaven, that burns up all things but it felf, but that remains and abides for ever. And this is the foul that in not a ganger unto theLord, and the Lord is his Guide : Oh ! happy is the foulthat knows this,waits upon it,is onely led, councetled, and conduiied by it : We have likewife fpoken of
