It's remarkable, TheLord Jefus Chrift takes notice, not onlyofour Duty-; but ofeveryCircumftanceof the Duty, and fo he prefents it unto God the Father, not only the Duty, but the Circumftance of the Duty ; and therefore there is not a haire of your Duty loft, not one graine of your Duty loft : is not this an unfpeakable Comfort unto a poor foul, that it knows that nothing is loft of all the Prayers it bath made unto God, that there is no loffe at all ? The very pantings of our hearts at the Throne of grace, are, received into the bofom of our Heavenly Fa- ther. Further, Is it not:a Comfort for a man to have liberty to go unto theMercy-Seat,and there for to meet with God ? 'Tis laidof wicked men, That theyfit in the feat ofthe feornful. There is, (it feems then) the feat of the fcornful; and there is a Mercy-Scat : A Drunkard, when, he is with his drun- ken company, and fits upon the Ale-bench (it may be) fcorning, and Jeering at Comeof the godly, making Tongs on them, he is (et upon the feat ofthe. fcornful ; that is a curled feat.
