This Scripture bath very much in it , hee fpeaks of the Gofpel, and compares that to a Glafs, wherein the glory of God alines , fo as wee may behold it with open face, and fo be- hold it, as that we are changed into the very fame image of it,from glory to glory,from one degree unto another. Wee may behold the glory of God in the glafs of the creature, and never bee changed into the fame image; but when wee behold the glory of God in the glafs of the Gofpel , wee then come to bee changed into the fame Image , and (till to bee changed more and more; and with open face wee do behold it. And in chap.4. verf.6. For God who com- manded the light to fhine out of dark efs, hath fhined into our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jefru C hrig.
