Let me fray in a word, That it will be impof able to reach and attain the fcope of this Text, if we ffudy not to know God's word, and his mind in his Word better ; the ignorance that is amongfl us, may prove a great rife, occafion and caufe of many fad miflakes and errors, if the Lord in mercy prevent not. THE great fcope of thefe words, is, to point out that holy precifenefs, accuracy, and circumf e- &ion, which was in Paui's walk, and ought to be in the< walk of all Chriflians ; and that is, to endeavour to have always a Confcience void of offence toward God, and to- ward men. The Doctrine that we infifted on fail was this That Chriflians ought to endeavour fo to walk, that in nothing their Confcience may have a challenge agatnft them.
