vine

this vineyard
prove barren, what

he then doe?

he will

it, that

prefence

attended with
Grace,and
Kindneffe.

it,(faith he)

Spirit

make it
fruitfull.
Thence it
becomes a vineyard
of
red
wine,

Lord
thy God
in
the

mighty,

them thereby

to take

makes Ifrael
bloffome and

with fruit.
This
is
that
which
God promifeth
his
people;he
will
not
forfake
them,
he
will alwaies
give
them
his prefence, in
the
kindnefe
and
fupplies
of
a
God
in
Covenant ,
to
protect
them
from others,
to
make them fruitfull
to
himfelfe:
This
is
his
not
forfahing
them:
He
will
preferve them from others
,
who
(hall
take
them
out
of
his
hand?
he
will
make
them fruitfull
to
himfelfe; he
will
worke, and who
(hall
let
him?

The
Reafon
why
the Lord
will
not forfake
his
People,
why he
will
conti-
nue doing them good,
is
expreffed
in
thefe words
for
his
owne
name
fake,
and
in
this
Afertion two
things are confiderable.
a.
A
tacite
exclufion
of
any
thing in themfelves, for which,
or
upon
Con
-
fideration
whereof God
will
conftantly abide with them.
It
is
not
for
their
fakes,for
any
thing
in
them, or what
they have
done,
may,
or
can
do, it
is
not
upon
the
account
of
any
Condition, or
qualification
whatever,
that
may,
or
may
not
be
found
on
them,
but'
meerely for
his name
fake;
which in
the
like
cafe
he
exprefeth
fully Ezek.36.32.

The truth
is,
they
may
.
prove
fuch,
as
on all accounts
what-
ever
(hall
deferve
to
be rejetted,that
nothing
in
appearance,or
in
their
owne
fence,
as
well
as
others, though
the root
of
the
matter
be
in
them,may
be
found upon
them,
when
God takes delight
in them. Like
thofe you have
defcribedat
large.

Cattell

thy
burnt
offerings,

nor wearied
thee
with
Incenfe, thou
hail
brought
me no
fweet
cane

money

thou
filled

thy Sacrifices, but thou haft made

finnes,
thou
haft wearied
me
with thine iniquities:
I
even
I
am
he
that
blotteth
out thy tranfm
grefflons
for
mine

fake,artd will not
remember thy
Panes
any
more.
Weary
of
God they are,
neglehting his worfhip,
making
his
Patience and
Forbea-
rance to
ferve
with their
iniquities.
It
feemes
to
be impoflible ahnoft for any
Creature
to apprehend,that God
will
not
give
them up
to
everlafting con-
flation. Yea
perhaps
they
may
be
forward
in
their
follies
,
and
contend with
God
when he
goes
to
Neale
them. Ifai.57.17.
