( 3z) but One : But the former is true : Therefore fo is the later. `Thirdly, if the belief in Chrifl as Prophet, asPriefi,and as King, be, but feveral Effential parts of the Chriltian faith, and not several fort` of faith, and no one of them is the true Chri- {ban faith it felf alone ( no more then aHead or a Heart is a humane body, ) then true faith is it one ( conftifting of its of ential parts ) But the Antecedent is undoubted, therefore fo is the Con°equent. Secondly, And as Faith in Effence is but One faith, fo this One faith is but One undivided Condition of the Covenant of Grace, and it is no: one part of faith that is the Condition of one benefit, and another part of another, and fo the feveral benefits given on feveral as of faith, as feveral conditions of them : but the entire faith in its Effentials is the condition of each benefit : and therefore every efiential part is as well the Condition of one promifed benefit , as of another. This I prove : Firft, In that Scripture doh nowhere thus divide , and make one part of faith the condition of Juftification,and another of Adoption, and another of Glorification ; & . and therefore it is not to be done. No ma,ncan give the leaft proof of fuch a thing from Scripture. It is before proved that its one entire faith that is the Condition. Till they that divide or multiply conditions according to the feveral benefits and a&s of Faith, can prove their divifi®n from Scripture , they do no- thing. Secondly, we find in Scripture not only Believing in Chrii made the One Conditionof all benefits ; but the fame particu- lar vas or parts of this faith, having feveral forts of benefits afcribed to them ( though doubtlefs but as parts of the whole conditions.) Its eafie, but needlefs to flay to inflance. Thirdly, Otherwife it would followby parity of reafon, that there muff as many Conditions of the Covenant'as there be bea nefi:s to be received by it, tobe refpeeled by our faith : which would be apparently abfurd.
