A promife to a Non- entity, or meere Chimera. Minifters then are in the Church as Starres , not as Meteors ; they grow as Plants , not as Mufhromes their du- ration is not for a year , for an age, but through all ages. Thirdly, This appeares by the Apoftles care for a fucceffion; being not fuffered to continue by reafon of death, they took care for others to fill up their places in the Churches which they had planted. Therefore Paul (called not by man, but by a vifion and voice from heaven) gives order for a Miniflerial call by Ordina- tion, giving charge to Titt'u, Tit. r. 5. to ordaine Elders in every City , and this by laying on of the hands of the PreJbytery , t Tim. 4. t 4. to whom the care of Church -infpe &ion was by him com- mitted, A. 20. r7. compared with verf. z8.
