I

,tm'a man of

uncleane

(

and

certainly

if

of unclean lips,

then

he

ome uncleanneffe in

the heart

further

)

for

mine

eyes

have

feene

the King the Lord of

Hoffis.

The

fight

of God

did

caufe

hini

to

cry our, woe

to

him,

he was

undone

;

Now

then,

if

fo

be that

(srod

lhould bring thee to

have

to

dealt.

im

mediately with him, O the terróur that

thy

Çoncience

would

bring

ou

thee

;

Thofe

uncleannef es of thy

heart,

though

they

trouble

thee

not how,

they

may

trouble thee

one day

:

,As we"know

it

is

in

a

chimny

that

is

very

fowle, if

the

tire

get

into

ir,

then

it

makes

a

flame,

and

it

is

hard

to

quench

it

:

And

fo

when

affliction

come

u

on

men

and

women that have

foo

:fie

hearts,

filthy uncleane

hearts,O

then

afflictions

are

like

totburne molt dreàdfully.

I,

.I

doe but

appeale

to

your

Con

-

.fciences in

this,

fuppote

God

should

fay

,"

Well,

all

the Con-

gregation

and ,men in

the world

Gall

know

what

uncleanneffe

there

is

in

every one

of

your

hearts,

they

(hall

know

all

rhe un-

cleane thoughts that ever

you had, and

all

the

uncleane

delires

that ever

you

all

the

uncleane

fecret

workings

of

your

ihearts,

it

(hall

be

known

to

the

City,

and

to

all

the world.

Now

would it not trouble

you

to

think

that

God

should

turne

yourihlde

outward,

why

the infinite

God

he knowes all,

his

piercing

eye lóokes through and

through;

all

that uncleanneffe

are before him

as

any

adìions

that

ever

you

have

done

And

Confider

this,

efpecially

you

that

make

profeilon

of holineffe

and

purity,

and

yet

God

and

your

Confctences

tell

you

that

you

live in

fecret

haunts of

wicked-

neffe

:

Some

fervants

that

perhaps are falfe

to their Mailers,

and Governours

;

or areguilty

offecret

uncleannelfe, and

that

they

might cover

their

uncleanneffe will

make

great thew

of

much forwardneffe in

prayer,

and

going

to

hear

the

word,

and

who would fufpe&

thefe for

falfenele

,

for uncleanneffe,

--

And

fo

for others

;

O

this

is

a

moll abominable

thing to

have

an

uncleane

heat,

and think

to

cover

it

by making

a

profeffion

of

Religion Thou doefl take the

name of

God

in vaine

in a

molt dreadfull manner,

and

know

that the

wickedneffe of thy

heart will

find

thee

our'

;

And jufl

it

is

with

God

to

leave

thee to the

wickedneilè of thy

heart,

to break,
