fsion,

company

them

there

are

woful

evils

of

fin

that accompany

thy

foul

, yet

God

will accept

of thee;

fo

there are great

evils

in

the

ways

of

God,

Afllicions

that

accompany

them,yet

thou wilt accept of

them

and

think

it reafonable

:

What,

/hall

God

accept

of

my

foul

, notwithffanding

all

the

evil

of

fn

;

and

/hall

not

I

accept

Of

Gods

ways, notwithffanding

all

the

evil

of

afifidion

and

trouble

?

certainly, the

foul

that

is

pardoned,

cannot but anfwer

God

fo

far

as

this

Will

God

juftifie

'me

notwithftanding my

fin

?

I

will

juftifie

God

not

-

withflañding any trouble,

affiic`fion,

difficulty,

or

fufferings

that

may befal

me in

his ways,

and

I

will juftifie

the

ways of

God

;

this

is

both

an

Evidence

and

a

duty

;

God

juflifies

our

fouls

though they

be

very

finful

;

we have

caufe

to

jufli-

ffie

Gods ways, though

they

be

very

tr

oublefome

;

if

thou

dolt

not fo,

thou

art

none

of

Gods

child

;

for

wifdom

Children

;

thou

impel}

thy

fins

are

pardoned

,

and

that

God

will

juftifie thee

;

and

wilt

not

thou

juftifie 'him

?

Does not

thy

fin

hinder Gods grace to thee

;

and

(hall

trou-

ble

and

affliction hinder

thy

glorifying God

?

O

man

!

thou

'haft too vile

a

heart,

and too bale

a

fpirit,

to

be

one

of thofe

that God bath

pardoned

;

if

thou

wert

a

child

of

Wifdom

,

and one whom

God

bath

pardoned,

as

God

bath

juflified

thee,

fo thou

wilt

juflifie

God

:

This

note

may meet

with

thofe that

in

company

hear

Minifters

and

the

ways

of

God

cryed

out againft

,

and

yet

have

not

a

word

to

fpeak

to jufti-

fie

God,

perhaps Gentlemen

and

others fpeak

ill

of

Gods

ways,

and

thou

flandeft fneaking and haft

not

a

word

to

fay

for God

and his

ways

;

Doll

thou think

God

bath. juftified

thee

,

and

doll

thou

hear God

and

his

People,

and

his

Word

reproached,

and

thou haft not

a

heart to

juftifie

God

?

Tenthly

and

laffily, Thofe whom

God

pardons

and forgives

he

puts

in

them

a

merciful

frame of

heart

to

forgive

others

;

and

that

upon

Divine

grounds there

is a

kind

of

natural forgive

-

nefs

:

many

will

forgive,

but

it

is as

a

Heathen

forgives

ano-

ther

and

it

is

a

fhame

for

many that profefs

themfelves

Ghriftians, that they

do not go

fo

far

;

but

you

muff

forgive

in

a

fpiritual

way,

for that

is

the way that

accompanies

pardon

of

fin,

to forgive,

becaufe

I

have had

more

for

-

given;
