as
though
they
were
nothing
or
masking them under
the

of
vertue.
Neither
doth
he
often
moue
vs
to
commit
thofe
fins
which
nature (refirained by
Gods
common
grace,
or
fantified
by
his
fpirit)doth
abhorre
and
tremble to think:
of;
vnleffe
it
be either to
vexe
Gods
children
with
fuch
fug
geflions,rather than
for any hope
ofouercoinming
them
;
or
elfe
that
whileíl their
mindes
are
wholly
intent
in
withfian
ding
his
outward
violence,
hee may more
cunningly intrap
them
in his
ferret
ambufhtnents,which they regard
not:
but
otherwife
bee vfually tempts
vs
to
commit
fuch
fnnes,
as
through
our
corruption
wee
are
prone
vnto,
as
not
thinking
them to
be
finnes,
or
but
fmall, or
rather
neuer
entring
into
any
confederation
ofthem
at
all
;
as
namely,carnall fecuritie,
hardneffe
ofheart
,infidclitie,impenitencie, negledi
ofGods
word, prophaning
of
his
Sabbaths, couetoufnes,
ambition,
pride,negledi
of
the
general! duties
of
Chriftianitie
and fpe
ciall
duties
of
our
callings;
all
which
are
not
much
leffe
hai-
nous
in
the fight
of
the
Lord
then the other
groffe
outward
finnes,
and much more dangerous vnto
vs, as
being
Satans
ferret
fnares
which
hee laieth to intrap
vs
at
vnaw
ares; in
which
when
we are
caught
wee
are
content to
lie
bound,be-
caufe
they
do
not
fo
much pinch
and
torment
the
confcience
as
the
other
outward
fumes,
they
being not
feene,
or
not
re
garded.
As
therefore
thofe
difeafes
which by diflurbing
the
brame
doe take
away
all fenfe
ofpaine,
are
of
all
others moll
defperate, namely, the dead pallie,
the
falling
Gckneffe,
and
fleepie
lethargie,
and
in
other
difeafes
the
patient
is
moll
dangeroufly
ficke
when
he
hath
no feeling
thereof;
fo
there
is
no
ficknes
of
the
foule
fo
defperate and
dangerous,as thofe
that
afflict
not
our
confciences
with
any
fenfe
of
Painey
to
wit,
carnall fecuritie, hardneffe
of
heart,
and
the

aboue
named.
And thus
