laboureth

captiuitie, or to
pull
them
back

when they
are
efcaped.And
thefe
are
oftwo
forts,
the
firf
leading
to
fecuritie
and prefiimption, the
other
to
doubting
and defperatiö.
For
if
he haue
to
deale
with world-
ly men
;
who were neuer truly conuerted
veto
God,
he lab

reth
to perfwade them
that
they
are
redeemed by
Chrift,
and
therefore
though
they hue
in
their
finnes,yet they
be
fa
ued,for Chrift
came
into
the world to
fauc (inners:
but
when
he
affaulteth the
true Chriflian,who is indeedethe redeemed

the Lord
;
then
he
moueth him
to doubt
and defpaire,
ei-
ther
of
the
fufficiencie
or
of
the efficacie,ofthe
worke
of
our
redemption wrought
by
Iefus
Chrift.

he
may continue the
worldly man
in
his'carnall fecu-
ritie,and
fond prefumption,
he
vfeth
two
principali reafons
;
the firfl,that the redemption
wrought
by
Chrit}
is
vniuerfal,
and
erfnedtuallfor
the
faluation
ofall the
world;
out
ofwhich
hee
frameth this temptation
:
atria
bath
fhed
his
precious
blood,
and
fuffered
death for
all
the
Nvorid,
and
hath redee-
med
all
mankinde which were loft
in Adam,
out
of
the
bon-
dage ofSatan death
and hell
;
why therefore fhouldeft
thou
be
fo

in
flying
finne,
with
which
thou art

lighted?
why doetl
thou

and wherfore fhouldeft thou take any

paines
