are
to

the fpiritual
warfare

wherein(as
in

other
warres)we
are
to

preparation to

In our preparation we
are
firft
to
confider
of
the
(
late, qualitie
,
and
condition ofourenemies,
and
ofour
'manes
how
we
may withfiand
and ouercome them.
Concerning
the
firfl,in an enemie
who
proclaimethwarre

to
confider
two things
:
firf}
of
his
wil,and
fecondly
of
his
power.
For
if
he
haue will
to hurt
vs
and no
power,
he
is
not to
be greatly
regarded;ifpower
and no ma-
litious and
vnreconcileable will,he
is
not
fo
much
to
be
fea-
red;
but
if
his
power be great
and puiffant, and
his
will
mali-
tious,then
is
it
time
to
looke
about
vs,and
to
muffler
all our
forces,
that
we may
be
readie
