For,

This

reftimony is

not

called forth

to

fpeake immèdiately

,

to

the

con-

tinuance

of

Believers

in

their

Faith, but

to

the continuance and

unchangea-

bleneffe

of

the

Love

of

Cod to them;

and confequentiallyonly

to their

pre -

in

Faith

upon

that

account.

according

to the

tenor

of

the

Covenant

of

Grace.

His Kindnefle

being

to

us

things

our

oppofed

unto

thetas

really

and

direllly,

as

though

they might

the Will

of

God, but

only

meritori-

now when God faith,

that

he will continue his kindneffe

as is

plainly

intimated

in

that

that

they may

fall

into

, as

that

He cannot

but turne

his

Kindnefle

from

them,

is

a

bold attempt

for

the

violation

of

his Goodneffe and Faithfulneffe, and

a

plaine begging

of

the thing

in

Queftion. Certainly it

is

not

a pious

labour

to

thruft

with violence

fuch fuppofalls

into the Promifes

of

God ,

as

will

ftoppe

thofe

is

fuch,

as

noSaint

affixe
