the Gofpel, which

therefore

of

peace.

Now

as

man'

leadeth

us

by

his

outwardwords, to

fee

his

good

meaning toward

us;

fo

God

by

this

outward word,

as well

as

inward, doth

reveale

to

us

his

rich

grace Now

we may confider this true Peace,

as

for

the

fubftance

of

begun

in

us,

or

as

more

full,

for the circumftantiall

degree

of

it;

for

as

Chrift

infinuateth

a

joy

in

part and

refpedively,a joy

full

;

fo

we may

conceive

of

Peace

:

For,as there

is a

light more cloudy,and more bright

and

cleare;

fo

there

is a

peace, with

which more or

lefts difturbance

is

incermedled.

Now

Peace confidered

in

the

fiat

kinde, commeth firft

from this, that Gods amity

is

reftored

;

whereas

his

wrath

was

toward

us, now

he

is

atoned and reconciled

through Chrift

;

theworking

there-

fore

of

our

peace,

is

chiefly

afcribed

to

this,

that Chrift

did

abolifis
