while
the

thofe
paines are
not felt which
are prefent.
Finally,a manin
a
golden dream,thinketh thingsfar better with
him then
they
are,
and
is
highly contented for the time
;
Thefe
are wayes (my
brethren) whereby wewalk
in
a
full
peace,when yet our
unbeleefe hath
not
beeneout- wraftled, when
our unholy lulls have
not
been crucified
by
us.
In
the fecond
place
this letteth you
fee
how
you may
try
the truth
of
your peace:
Is
thy

thou
feeleff his
grace
fhed
into
thy heart which
is
better then
life,this grace
in
Chrift,
this grace which
reacheth to the forgiveneffe

thy
fandtification,
which
no

which draweth
thy
heart
up
to
God,',

that thou

becaufe
the Lord

thy

that
he will never leave thee,
that

which

Happy

we come
fromthe the
things
wifhed, to
the
perfons from
whom they
are
to
be
effedted
;
Whence mark, who
are
the
authors
of
true peace, andwith
whom
it
is
to
be fought. Hence
it is,
that
God
is
called,the
God

the Prince
ofpeace :
God
making peace, none can trou-

as
Kings
are authors

maintainers

-
fticall enemies

God, the
King
immortali,
and
Chrift
who hath re-
ceived
the
Kingdome,
are fitly
brought
in
as
the authors
of
this fpirituall
Peace
:
And it
is
to
be
noted, that he
fitly
nameth
God
the Father,
and
the Son our Lord
;
for, the
principaliand fubordinate
power whichdoe

thing,
are fitly
combined

Now
the Father
hath
all
power,
and he

fubjedted all things
unto the Son, himfelfand
Spirit excep-

But
why
is
not the

It
may
be faid, becaufe
the Apo

is
diredted
to
expreffe onely thefe perfons, who have
a
kinde
of
principall authority and agency
:.
-Now the
Spirit hath the place
of
exe-
cuting thefe
things,
as

the Father and Son:
But
in
unfolding
thefe things,
as
it
is
good to

to

For
conciulìon; Let
thefe be remembred, that
though both the
Father
and.
Son, be fitly named,
forthe
reafon
above;
and
the Father
firft,
both
for
his principali
authority,
as
likewife, becaufe he worketh
both
by
himfelfe, and
from himfelfe
;
the
Son
by
himfelfe,
(as
who
hath the

Divine nature)
but not
from himfelf,
as
who

not
from

Father,

Nevertheleffe,in

it is

It
is

to
conceive inmtnde

The
reafon is, becaufe every
