them that
live adulteroufly,
that
have queanes, concubines, mittref-
fcs,and this age
is
growne
flagitious this
way.
Now
younger brethren
may breed , elder will live at
a
higher
rate
,
now change
of

Calves;but God
will
roote outthe
uncleane
man.
Now
the manner

in

two
things:
That
it
is
nor
enough
todoe
the
duties
of
love,
but
we
mull
doe
them
in
DA
Ï;
[rich
fort
as
we
have Chriji
for
enfample.
Now
the
manner
of
his
love
is
to
be confrdcred
in
three things.
1.
In the
c
haftitie
of
it.
z. In the fincerity.
3. In the
conftancy.
Chrift
Both fo
love
his
Church
,
that
he prifeth all other
as a
nettle, or
a
thorne, matched with
a
Role
or Lillie: Againe, he doth
not command
her
the
leaft thing
which hath
a
thew
of
impurity.
2.
For
his
fincerity,he
doth
love
his
Church,not hers,for
when
he
made love
to
her,
fhe
had neither wealth nor beauty
,
but
was
poore,
blinde, miferable.
3.
And
his
love
where
it
is
once
,
continueth to
the
end.
Thus
Pre;
fhould
husbands love,
t+nt
with whorifh
affections ,
nor
in unclean
-
neffe,
but
in
chaftity
and
honour, they
fhould
love
the woman for the
graceand
womanhood, no
by- refpects ;
theix
love
mutt
continue and
grow.
And
it
doth
convince
the
practifc
of
moft, who
are
full
of
lull
,
but
Yf
;
have little
love,who
have
wandring affections,impuredallianccs,who
love the wealth more then the woman, whofe love
is a
while,
fo long
as
there
is
wealth to
keep
it
warme
,
while
the honeymoonelafteth:
And when the
flower
is
cropped
which they
lulled
for, then it
feeth-
eth downe
as
fall
as
ever it
boyled up.
Marke hence,That
thrill
is
fuch
a Husband
as
that
his
love
is
exem-
Dodd,
z,
plary
to
all husbands.
Which
doth
open
a
fountains
of
meditation.For
as
by the comparifon
of
a
fathers love ,
wee marking
the love
of
pa-
rents, doe
gather Gods love to us,
and
how
wee like
children fhould
be
affected
to
him
:
fo
this earthly refemblance
of
man and wife
is a
fpe&acle
helping
us
to
fee fpirituall
things
in
Chrift,
and our
duty to-
ward him.
We
may therefore thus
ufe
it
:
z. I
fee
Husbands that are
finfull
provide
for their wives, how
much more will
Chrift
provide
forme

I
fee

fee
husbands coverand forbeare many things.
q.
I fee

feeling

griefes ,
how
much more
are
thefe things
in
my
Lord
toward me, when
in
men
that
are finfull they are

So for
us, firft
,
I
fee
that
a

who bath
a
loving husband , her

in

I

but
her
husband hath made himfelfe anfwerable

So
we

us,
as
who
are
