It's an excellent Scripture toquiet the hearts of the Saints in the midit of their fufferings. [It became Him] (faith the Text) for .whom are all things, and by whom are all things, . in bringing many Eons un- to glory, to make the Captain of their falvation perfea through fufferings : The Captain of your falvation , yeas your King that is the King of glory yet He was made perfea through fufferings. Now you muff go the fame way that He did. Now ifyou muff enter into a full poffeflion of this glorious Kingdom through fufferings why fhould you murmur ? Luke, 24. z6. Ought not Chirft to havefuffervd thefe things, and to enter into His Glory ? It's a fpeech ofChrift Himfelf,So I fayconcerning you : Ought not you to fuffer fir fi, and then to enter into your glory ? Why fhould not you come to the fulnefs of the glory of that Kingdom that is prepared for you ; as Jefus Chrifi your Head came to the fulnes ofthe gloryofHis Kingdom? It was by fuffering. Ifyou Were ofthe World, the world Would loveyou ; butyou are not of the World,therefore the Worldhatesyou ; you are tranflated in- to another Kingdom, and therefore their fpirits are bitter againft you , and their tongues as (harp as a two edged fword ; you come to liveby other Laws than they do ; they know no other Lawbut the Law of the Land where they live ; but you have other Laws that they do not nnderítand the authority of, you haveother rules for your confciences than they have ; their confciences can yeeld to this, or that, according as may ferve for their worldly ends ; but now your confciences are fubjeeted to another authority, you cannot haveyoúr confciencesyeeld up and down as they can, there upon they think it tobe (tout- nefs in you, but God knows it to be otherwife : And they wonder at this, they underftand not the reafon of Bb 2 this
