ST. PAUL'S

DIVINE

COMMISSIQY.

[DISC.

I.

John

xiv. 19.

xii.

26.

Where

I

am,

there shall

also

my

servant

be;

1

Cor.

xv.

20.

49. Now

is

Christ

risen

from

thè

dead,

and

become

the

first

fruits

of

them

that

slept,:

As

we

have borne

the image

of

the

earthy,

so

shall

we

also

bear

the image

of

the heavenly

: 2

Cor.

iv:

14.

Knowing

that

he

which

raised

up the

Lord

Jesus,

shall

raise

up us also

by

Jesus, and shall

present

us

with

you.

See

more

;

John

xiv.

2, 3.

I

go

to

prepare a

place

for

you,

that

where

I

am

there ye

may

be

also.

Eph.

ii. 5,

6.

Even

when

we

were dead in

sins,

God

bath

quickened

us

together

with

Christ

and

kath

raised

us up

together,.

and

made

us

sit

together

in

heavenly

places

in Christ

Jesus.

Occasional

reflection.

If

you

are furnished

with

con-

vincing arguments

that Jesus

Christ

is

risen from

the

dead, then

you

may be

assured your religion

is

true

;

though, there

may be

twenty

little

cavils

that

you

cannot

easily answer

:

You

may

be

assured

also,

that

all

the

blessings

of

this religion

are provided and ready

for his

faithful

followers.

Is it

certain

that Jesus

in

risen from the dead

?

Then

my

sins

are

fully

atoned

for and forgiven,

if

I

trust

in

him,

and

give

myself up to

him;

Rom.

viii. 33, 34.

Who

shall

lay any

thing

to

the

charge

of

God's elect

?

It

is

God

that

just

Jieth

:

Who is

he

that

condemneth

?

It

is

Christ

that

died,

yea

rather,

that

is

risen again,

who is

even.

at

the

right

hand

of

God,

who

also

maketh

inter-

cession

for

us;

i.

e.

as

appears

from

the foregoing

verses,

for

all

those

who believe

or

trust

in

Christ.

Then

he

bath

all

power to sanctify and save

me,

if

I

commit myself into

his

hands

;

Eph.

i.

17, 18, 19.

and

ii.

1,

5,

8.

You

path

he

quickened

who

were dead in

trespasses

and

sins. We

are

quickened

together

with

Christ,

and saved

by his

grace;

i.

e.

We

who

have

trusted

in

Christ

;;

Eph.

i. 12.

Then I

shall

be

raised

from the dead,

as

sure

as

if

it

were

done.

already

;

for he

is

the pledge and

pattern

of

the. resurrection

of

all

his

followers

;

Rom.

viii. 11.

If

the Spirit

of

him

who

raised

up

Jesus

from

the

dead

dwell in you

;

he

that

raised

up

Christ from

the

dead,

shall

also quicken

your

mortal

bodies, by

his

Spirit

that

dwclleth in

you.

O

happy

souls, who have given

up themselves

sin
